
Akshay V Davé, M.D.
Physician PartnerDr. Davé was born and raised in New Orleans and earned early acceptance to Johns Hopkins University, where he studied biomedical engineering and graduated with honors. He went on to receive a President’s Scholarship to attend Baylor College of Medicine, where he earned his M.D. and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at Baylor and became board certified in 2000, with recertification in 2010. Dr. Davé has been active in both basic science and clinical research, as well as charitable work, for which he was honored by Pope Benedict XVI.
Since joining Dominion Eye Associates in 2000, Dr. Davé has built long-lasting relationships with his patients. He is a Physician Partner with Atlantic Vision Partners, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine, and the Medical Society of Virginia.
